HiNZ Wiki Page

With the wonderful “webcast” from HiNZ here HiNZ webcast would be nice to know what others watched, what they loved/got out of it and thus would recommend the rest of us should try. This is a wiki; please edit this first post to make the list.

NB - the videos can be set to play at 2x the speed, makes people sound a bit funny, but it’s amazing how you can still hear and follow easily, and cuts down the time commitment by 1/2

Option 1 - numbered list - you have to highlight all and number

  1. Richard Corbridge’s keynote was musical and brilliant - cementing his position as the “rock star of the health CIO world”

  2. PatientTrack/eVitals talk Typical problem with a solution implemented and evaluated. Listen out for question at the end re: infection control and iPads vs paper notes - someone always has to ask :green_heart: Made me crave obs charts that are instantly accessible - from anywhere in the hospital :green_heart: Wish I had that when doing ICU outreach

  3. It’s Michael, not Mary! Accommodating transgender clients in male/female laboratory information systems - is how WDHB is managing the topic being discussed here https://ehealthforum.nz/t/male-female-and-gender-reassignment/7342

  4. CADENZAA Shows how to build “audit” collecting into clinical workflow

  5. Click wait Born out of frustration of it not being dynamic or a patient summary - but how do we get this vendor supported now? (so that others can have it without reinventing the wheel)

  6. Patient information in the palm of your hand Same backend but you can do the front end differently

  7. Workforce development let’s start at the beginning and What’s in a workforce Given we believe in why we have our jobs, and we all need a succession plan - this looks at that.

We need a thread on - what to teach the next generation rather than leaving them to learn it for themselves (like we have had to)

  1. Richard again - Deeper dive in UK (Leeds) IT In depth of what Leeds have done - how impressive what has been done there actually is - Good on him for selling the dream - should we all aim to “build it ourselves”?

Maybe bit hard to edit the table below as the other option - as their markdown does not have a table function - using good old fashioned HTML coding a - easiest way to edit might be to copy the HTML into an online HTML WYSIWYG editor - add there, then remove this and paste your edited one in
