First NAHGSTIG Hui 2023

Kia ora koutou - mark your diaries and keep your eyes open for hui/zui links

Our first national NAHSTIG hui is planned for Friday March 31st @11am. These will be planned for recurrence every 8 weeks (so you can put placeholders in your diaries now).

Topic TBC but we will be asking for suggestions and will seek some discussion about the plan for our eAllied workshop for this year (part of HiNZ Digital Health week in Hamilton later this year).

**Please remember to delete the recurrences that Charis set up last year. Unfortunately, no one at HiNZ has access to cancel these out of our diaries so you will need to action this yourselves.

Great timing!

@alastairk has posted this morning about reveiwing their interoperability road map and is asking for contributions and feedback to let them know, ‘about the issues and opportunities in your part of Aotearoa to help shape our work’.

It might be helpful for NAHSTIG to consider the current InterOp Map - where the gaps in reality remain, changes in milestones to help close those gaps and any new opportunities.

As clinicians we are the only ones able to identify the reality of system fractures and the difficulty of navigating multiple programmes to make a single decision. Examples go a long way to illustrate and emphasise

Had a thought…lack of interoperable systems are effectively one of the leading barriers to supporting and enabling integrated care services to meet the needs of our consumers and to deliver evidence of outcomes that translate across and involve data from individual systems.

Yep!

I think part of the problem is we don’t break some of this down into smaller steps. Been in a few conversations in the last couple of days where we are getting a good vision together and then everyone wants to get to the vision in one step/project.

I think we need a bit more incrementalism.

please also find the karakia for tomorrows meeting. As Gloria has mentioned we have Andrew Jones (Deliottes) sharing around national data and digital, and we would love to hear from the group what topic you would want to have brought forward for general discussion.

Good morning everyone.

Just a quick note to update you about ZUI.

We have scaled things back a bit - as we hit a technical wall with still not being able to connect into some corporate networks.

And we felt that even if just 1 or 2 people did not have a good connection in a large meeting - that is still very frustrating for those people and does not respect the time they have put aside to attend something important.

However - we really appreciate the encouragement that Nathan and others in this group gave the ZUI team to push forwards - and we certainly made some gains in the last month or two.

We continue to move forwards with the project, just at a slower pace - and this thread below will help explain where we are at presently if you follow it to the bottom:

https://ehealthforum.nz/t/thanks-for-helping-us-test-zui-finished/28941

In the meantime - ZUI should work well for 95% of people and we have the servers set to cope well for meetings of up to 6 people. Please feel free to use it and feed back at any time. And if the project interests you, reach out as we have a ZUI-core group that will be increasingly working in the open in the ZUI category of the eHealthForum.

Have a good meeting today.

Kind regards, Ben.

Thanks Ben, we did use Zui this week for a council meeting and it worked well so we will continue to use it for the smaller group meetings, and look forward to when its ready for the larger group to use. Great tool.

Thanks Sharon - that’s great

Hi Sharon

Was the ZUI recorded? I was not able to access… Thank you!

I hope this went really well!

May I suggest the video link goes in the body of the first post next time as in the Title it wasn’t clickable.

When folk add the event to their calenders (currently manual, soon to be automatic) a link back to that post is included, ensuring the agenda / video link / documents etc always are up to date.

Great - thanks Nathan

Kia ora Annick,
Unfortunately, the session wasn’t recorded. This is something that was previously facilitated through HiNZ and we are currently working out how best to do this.
