I’m really looking forward to seeing many of you at the HiNZ Digital Health Week; it is so precious to be able to catch up in person, and always great fun.
If you are doing a talk or workshop, and would like to use the eHealth Forum to facilitate this - here is the place to ask. You might like to consider:
Dynamic content during a session (e.g. a poll, dynamic notes, collation of resources)
Pre-reading / interaction / discussion
Post conference follow-up
Also, don’t forget to mention the eHealth Forum (and that it is an App) when you are up on the stage! Anyone can join; they simply have to visit ehealthforum.nz. Also, if you hit the in the top right, you’ll get a handy QR code for the quick joining of new users.
Great idea to use eHealth forum to add value to our presentations! I will insert the eHealth forum logo and QR code in my slides!! Can you provide more details on points 1 and 2 above?
Looking forward to catching up with everyone at HINZ. I’ve created a slide with the QR code on to promote the forum - you can include it in your presentations. Ask people to point their smartphones at the slide and the QR code will take them to the forum.
I’m sure this will all work OK for discussion but I need to affirm the risks for HiNZ and the conference and ehealthforum
If there is any technical difficulty or user queries, do not approach the HiNZ conference team for any support with this. They will be loaded with the conference and do not have the capacity or knowledge to provide support.
Also note, making the QR code public will open ehealthforum up to commercial people in the room so you may want to look at an active vetting process to maintain integrity.
Please do not upload presentations as this will make them available to non HiNZ members who have paid a membership fee and conference fee to be able to access them and contravenes a contract we have with the conference publishing company.
It is very important that no-one makes contact with DHW sponsors or commercial organisations attending as we have significant contract agreements with sponsors in place that will be contravened and would risk the future viability of the conference. We have had experience previously of commercial organisations trying to use ehealthforum to go around contracts and sponsors. You can imagine how a DHW sponsor would feel if a company who hasn’t sponsored, is able to gain a presence, even subtly, in the forum.
Nice! I made one too for some stickers for people to use:
But yours will be better up on the big screen and be easier to scan.
I second this. If you need a hand during the conference with any eHealth Forum stuff, please simply post in Support and one of the @moderators (many of whom are attending) will help out.
This is already the case. Those who work for software and hardware vendors are welcome to join the eHealth Forum. They are expected to adhere to the eHealth Forum Terms of Service:
Hi Everyone,
Hoping to see lots of you in person at DHW next week. Many thanks to Nathan for his advice on setting up a place in eHealth Forum for me to link to as part of my presentation. I’ll be plugging it and I hope lots of people do too.
The latter. Every Topic and indeed each post on the Forum has its own bespoke URL, so you can direct people straight to it with either the URL or a QR code of it (you’ll have to make the QR code).
Hi all, please note, that DHW powerpoint presentations are due already and the team is having to chase overdue presentations (due at the latest tomorrow). With 200+ presentations, every delay by an individual compounds and adds considerably to the workload of the team. This is added extra stress to the team, at the last minute.
Also, if you haven’t used a QR code or used the ehealthforum ‘add ons’ in a presentation before, can I ask you not to use it for the first time at the conference. We invest heavily in providing the best experience for delegates who expect a seamless experience. Using any new tech for the first time in a presentation, is high risk and should be practiced and tested first.
Reiterating, there is no support available from the conference team for anything ehealthforum related, unfortunately, delegates will assume it is a conference function and will approach the team for support. Again, if you haven’t successfully tested and used any ehealthforum add ons, please do not use them for the first time at DHW. Any support needs to go to Support
We want to support the connection with the forum, but at this late stage, it is adding significant load on the team.
I completely concur; the place to look for eHealth Forum help is Support - not HiNZ staff. The @moderators and your peers know their stuff and are super helpful.
Do be mindful of the additional workload on others that might be caused by changing your presentation, and the risk of technofailure if you try something fancy (using the eHealthforum or any other tool).
I’d recommend copying Chris Paton’s excellent slide above and modifying it to suit. Big is beautiful when you are trying to read something with a smartphone camera from across a room.
