WHO call for informatics consultants

Hello. I received this email from IMIA today and thought there might be some people in CiLN who would want to register in response to this call for consultants.

We hope that this email finds you well.

The WHO regional office for Europe has asked IMIA to forward the information provided below to the membership.


The WHO/EURO would like to establish a roster of qualified health information expert consultants who will support their team with the preparation and implementation of country visits and activities related to national health information system assessments and national health information strategies.

The objective of the consultancy is to support the assessment of national health information systems in Member States of the WHO European Region, using the methodology compliant with the WHO Support tool to assess national health information systems and develop and strengthen health information strategies, currently under review, and its subsequent revisions.

I looked at this - depressingly it suggest that a Public Health degree is the most appropriate academic background. We have some way to go !!

Argh! You’re right. We do have some way to go! Public health qualification for clinical informatics is very old school, isn’t it?
