Technology continues to revolutionise our health and the care we deliver, and in 2016, the industry confirmed a new segment referred to as FemTech. FemTech describes the diagnostics, software or services that use technology specifically to improve the health and wellbeing of women. Whilst relatively new in Australia and New Zealand, the area continues to grow with an increase in the number of companies created, the investment obtained, and the media attention these technologies are gaining. From reproductive health, pregnancy and the general health and well-being of women, these technologies offer solutions that can transform a women’s life.
Join us for this online workshop which brings together three incredible women working in the FemTech space across Australia and New Zealand. Dr Alys Clark will start the session by speaking about her research at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute on pre-eclampsia and the computational modelling of pregnancy. This will be followed by Tara Croft, CEO of Baymatob, an Australian start-up company that have developed an AI-guided sensor and complementary diagnostic platform for pregnancy progression and risks to mum or baby. And finally, Dr Jenny Kruger, CEO of JunoFem, will speak about their journey of creating a device for pelvic floor health in Aotearoa’s healthtech ecosystem.
