Webinar Ethics and Governance of AI for Health

Today I attended a livestream webinar on the operationalization of the recently published WHO Guidance on Ethics and Governance of AI for Health, organised by Google Health and the Hastings Center during the Google Health Bioethics Summit 2022.
For anyone interested in this topic, you can watch the recording here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-btekV6MXU (starts around 14 minutes in).

Thanks for this Tania and for telling us about this earlier today

Thanks for this Tania, it was a great watch (starts at 14 mins)

You’re welcome
Still a lot of open questions but seems to be moving in the right direction

Thanks, Tania,

The link was much appreciated and I enjoyed it tremendously. The two high-level first thoughts comprised firstly how Aotearoa/NZ is just at the start of this journey but it is one we need to start. The second is that culture and the rights of indigenous peoples were ignored in this presentation. We need a fairer and more effective system not a better version of the current system.

Once again, many thanks.

Yes, I agree - there was a slide in there where I also thought indigenous contributions and co-creation would be worth mentioning explicitly. One of the key principles in the document is to ensure inclusiveness and equity but they did not deliver on that in this presentation unfortunately…
