Have they actually tackled the smart home thing?
Lots of announcements and standards that have been signed up to but many of the suppliers keep putting off the actual availability of this (long suffering/annoyed/frustrated apple homekit/homebridge user here)…

Possibly market forces would actually drive new sales towards vendors who do support interoperability.
