Telehealth survey

Hello. During lockdown there was a discussion about doing research to describe the consumer’s perspective on the use of video and or phone (telehealth) for primary care consultations. We now have ethical approval to conduct the survey our team has developed. We are asking for your support in (1) completing the survey if you provided or received care via video/phone during 2020 and (2) passing on our survey for your colleagues and their patients/clients/consumers to complete.

Here are the links to the surveys:
If you provided care during 2020 via video/phone please complete this survey: https://massey.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8vNkSh1EGL38XHf
If you received care during 2020 via video/phone please complete this one:

If you have a Facebook account, please go to ‘Exploring considerations for future telehealth’ and share the pinned post to your networks (including the provider networks on Facebook if they are linked to primary care services). Thank you in advance for your support for this important research. We look forward to seeing the completed the survey numbers rise and rise.

What about Allied Health? I worked with a number of social workers who were providing services during lockdown. Social workers have been trying to get the hours they spend on the phone recognised for some years – prior to lockdown. If you are interested in input from other health professionals, I can circulate it to social workers around the country.

Good point Anne. We have had several Allied Health professionals make the same point. We are in the process of considering adjustments to the two surveys to release in the New Year once the adjustments have received ethical approval.

Anyone who wants to assist is welcome as we don’t have any Allied Health professionals in our research team (you can join the research team or our advisory panel - the latter does have Allied Health professionals).

Will keep in touch as we progress.

Yes! I would be interested in joining either. I’m not sure I have enough time to do either, but I will make time because this is something I am passionate about. And I doubt that anyone else involved is any less busy!

Let me know what you need me to do.

Thanks Anne. Much appreciated! Could you please email me your contact details on k.day@auckland.ac.nz so that I can join you to our research team.

In terms of workload, the bulk of the work is done and focuses on primary care docs and nurses and their patients. I don’t think it’s a big job to adjust to Allied Health but we need to be sure we’re doing it right. You’re right, we’re all flat out at the moment - I’m hoping that after a break over Christmas everything I do will require less effort (haha, she laughs disbelievingly).
