Tags or not-Tags?

Just a little Sunday puzzle about forum things…

I’m looking at Jon’s post listing on the home page:

and its tagged(?) ‘scientific-papers’, but when I look at the dropdown list of ‘all tags’, the tag ‘scientific-papers’ is not one of them?

So I’m not sure what those little grey squares are, not tags, not categories.

Hi Mitch.

The tags dropdown only shows the 9 most popular tags for that Category - or the whole site if you are on the homepage (/latest).

If you start typing something in the filter box of the Tags dropdown it will magically appear.

Having said that, our tags are a bit of a wild west at the moment. They could do with some curation and rationalisation - very happy for one of the @moderators to volunteer!
