We’re pleased to announce that the July 2026 release of the SNOMED NZ Edition is now available for download from our member licensing and distribution service.
Release cycle improvements
This is our first ever July release, which we’ve added to our previous April and October schedule to publish new SNOMED content sooner. We’ve moved the release date to the 20th of the month to use the latest international release.
Loading the release
You will need to download both the following release packages and load them into your system or terminology server:
- SNOMED CT International Edition July 2026
- SNOMED CT NZ Extension July 2026
The same content can be viewed using the SNOMED CT Browser and accessed via FHIR API using the New Zealand Health Terminology Service (NZHTS).
New content
This release includes new and updated content in the following areas:
· ACC claim reference set and translation table
· Enhanced Primary and Community Care (EPCC)
· Online GP Care
· Health service type reference set
· Rare disorder reference set
· Mode of delivery code set
· CanShare reference sets.

The next scheduled release date is 20 October 2026.
