Here’s a proposal from SNOMED International for a framework for assessing levels of conformity in the use of SNOMED CT in clinical software. Please have a look - I’m interested to hear from the software development community, with a view to feedback

I think that could be an extremely useful tool in assessing the level of maturity and conformance of SCT implementation - if (and it’s a big IF) it is supported by a independent testing. Otherwise, we’ll continue to see claims made on behalf of certain products and services that they are ‘SNOMED compliant’ when a cursory glance ‘under the bonnet’ reveals the opposite.

I agree with @pkjordan . This looks like a reasonable stepwise assessment of how well SNOMED CT is being used in an implementation. Tom Morton and I will see if we can work this tool into our review of DHB adoption of the NZ ED SCT reference sets.
