Setting the direction for 2026

Kia ora koutou,

You might have noticed things have been a little quieter than usual in the NAHSTIG space in 2026. We wanted to take a moment to share what’s been happening behind the scenes. As a council, we’ve been working through our core focus and getting really clear on what we can meaningfully deliver this year. Through your feedback, we’ve heard clearly that there’s appetite for stronger connection into industry, more visibility of allied health, scientific and technical voices in digital health, and clearer ongoing activities to engage with.

We’re taking a deliberate pause to get this right so that what we bring forward is useful, practical and sustainable for our community. That means doing the groundwork now to ensure we can follow through well.

We’re also excited to welcome a refreshed council, bringing a breadth of experience and perspectives that consists of: Melanie Consedine, Wendy Smith, Andrew Jones, Rowena Woolgar, Jacinta Peers and Kiri Aikman

Thank you for bearing with us as these pieces come together. We’re looking forward to sharing more concrete plans, activities, and opportunities with you as the year unfolds.

Ngā mihi nui,

NAHSTIG Council
