Really appreciate Alan’s comment about it being inappropriate for a practice to completely opt out all their patients. Individuals can certainly make that decision if they want, but overwhelming I find my patients in the ED are surprised that we can’t see their GP information. “It’s on the computer!” they say, gesturing at a workstation on the ED bench. “Ma’am,” I reply, “it’s on a computer, but it’s not on that one.”
