Brilliant to have this report released publicly, albeit 2 years following the incident and with some pretty heavy redaction.

I take two key learnings from this:

  1. clinical informatics remains undervalued by both IT and clinical teams in Aotearoa NZ. This compromises all interactions between IT and clinical care, including the response to this incident

  2. that (especially at the occasional times of fast movement in digital health) cybersecurity always needs to be highly prioritised
