🚀 Quick Orientation to the eHealth Forum

Getting Started

On the homepage, you’ll see a list of all the Latest topics - with a few alternatives (New, Categories, Top) you can use. The main Categories are on the sidebar to the left (you can hide/reveal this).

Click on whatever interests you, have a read, and reply as you wish. Searching is a great way to find older (but still good) stuff.

You might also like to check out our FAQ, or do our Chatbot Tutorials for a quick way to learn the ropes.

The eHealth Forum app is installed directly (not via App stores). Simply visit ehealthforum.nz on your mobile device (or via the QR code :point_right:) and follow the prompts. You can visit this page for more detailed instructions.

:arrow_left: The Sidebar

This is the key to personalising the eHealth Forum. You can hide / reveal it by clicking on the three lines (image or 'hamburger :hamburger: ') top left. On mobile these instead make the sidebar slide out. There are several sections:

  1. The Top Bit has the core stuff, with some additional useful links under ⋮ More.

  2. Categories are next. These are focussed collections of Topics. You can personalise these (look for the image) as you wish.

  3. Tags are below this, and they allow you to track subjects of interest, and can also be personalised.

  4. Messages and DMs are last, for personal messages and chat (if you have any). These unlock after some time on the site.

  5. At the very bottom are a couple of buttons for switching to dark mode, to and from mobile mode, and a list of the useful keyboard shortcuts.

:mag: Search and :label: Tags

The best way to key into relevant conversations is the search function. This is very powerful and often turns up highly relevant posts, as well as users, groups, and other useful content.

 Look for the advanced search if you need something highly specific.

Tags are useful for labelling and finding related content. You can add them to any Topic you author, and the @moderators will keep them tidy.

:lock_with_ink_pen: Moderation

We have a small group of wonderful volunteer @moderators. They may edit your post to optimise its appearance, suggest some changes, and occasionally have to intervene if things get a little heated.
