New Search Banner -- what do you think?

A kind open source Discourse contributor has just made it possible to have a nice search banner with the same sort of links that we used to have on the ‘Welcome Banner’. You get to it via the top navigation i.e. ehealthforum.nz

I’ve implemented it, and it seems quite nice. I like the way it encourages people to search the eHealth Forum for content, which complements the latest posts that are served below nicely. All while reminding people of our values and acceptable behaviour. :+1: :+1:

What do you think of this new Search Banner?
  • It is brilliant!
  • A minor improvement.
  • No better than before
  • Worse - please make it as it was!

Really like it, I have often thought (and probably should have said) that a big banner like this was missing from the front page. Its simple, clean and draws the eyes in. Has some useful links to information for the first timer as well as for the regular visitor. Nicely done @NathanK !!

The search part of the banner is a definite improvement.

I might nit-pick the wording below ‘Welcome…’,

  1. Removing the Royal We: Participate with openness, kindness, and mutual respect.
  2. Marketing is a tricky one. Its best purpose is to inform about a new or better product, but it’s a slippery-slope downhill from there to inappropriate posts. So, product information seems appropriate, but trying to hussle it isn’t. I’m stuck for words to suggest here?
