Hi Ruth, CMH have just commenced planning/discussions to understand stakeholder impact, so we are in the early stages. Lessons learnt and overall experience from those who have transitioned will be handy to hear.

Hi Ruth
Regionally we are in the RFP process via Northern Region ISSP, also looking at things like Office365 and fast login with tap-on tap-off smartcards

At Counties we have got a local ringfenced deployment supported by Health Alliance. We have about 400 windows 10 devices (Microsoft Surface Go and the HP equivalent of Surface Pro). About half are used in community for home visits, mental health outreach and the rest used in hospital for ward rounds, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Pharmacists, Allied Health, Junior Docs etc. The fast walkers prefer the smaller 10 inch Surface Go and the others like the bigger 12 inch screen

The application migration and remediation from win7 to 10 is the key. For the pilot we only selected top 15 tier 1 clinical apps that users would heavily use on the move such as Clinical portal, eVitals, Eclair eRads, eLabs, eReferrals, ePrescribing, MCIS Badgernet, HCC etc

We still have hundreds of apps that may not be compatible with Win10 or take significant remediation and that may be the rate limiting step for the whole thing

Cheers
Brian

One ‘app’ CDHB found a compatibility problem with was ePharmacy, but mainly because we’re still on an old version.

HI Paul – just as an fyi Counties are just upgrading to version 4.x of ePharmacy so let us know if you want to find our how its going.

Thanks Jenny.
I might be in touch (perhaps via Dhairesh)

Thanks all, it’s certainly a huge piece of work, trying to track down the owners of some applications is challenging. I suspect there will be tears on change over…
