General practice IT funding
I think that the main issue to get IT connectedness going well in primary care( and therefore the wider health sector ) is to look at State funding for IT hardware / software /training in General practice . Currently there is none . This means quality and access varies .
Consumer On-line Access to Personal Plans and Patient Portals
Please indicate when the healthcare consumers across NZ, by DHBs and PHOs, can expect to access their data on-line to get the most benefit from telehealth services. A few consumers do have this access but it is not yet widely available.
NZ needs a healthcare consumer national body like the Consumers Health Forum in Australia. Any comments from the team?
