I liked this … what happens when a clinician find some cool digital stuff and wants to set it up asap. This happens increasingly as clinical equipment and IT converge but, in this case, the procurement, change management and IT processes are not set up to respond as quickly as the clinician expects. There are several great cartoons but I particularly like this one, which is really about communication. Don’t assume that everyone is on board. Define patient care goals and ‘open the box’ to show how the system can achieve these goals. Keep doing this as many times as it takes to get people excited about the change.
