Health Tech Hui - Robotics in Healthcare series - Taska Prosthetics
Ministry of Health, Wellington Office - GC1/GC2
Fri 23 August 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

As part of our latest Technology Advice piece - Robotics in Healthcare - the Emerging Health Technologies team are pleased to invite you to hear from Mat Jury, founder of New Zealand Company TASKA Prosthetics.

Matt will be sharing his story about how a mountain bike crash 10 years ago (which broke both wrists, thereby temporarily losing the use of his hands) prompted him to consider a career change - from engineer to prosthesist.
After tinkering with prototypes in his garage, Matt went on to found TASKA Prosthetics, and the world’s first waterproof multi-articulating myoelectric hand. It has been designed to handle the rigours of everyday lift, placing usability and durability at the forefront of its design philosophy. The product is designed and manufactured in New Zealand, and now has hundreds of users globally.

Joining Mat will be some of the TASKA team, including product tester and Support Engineer Rick Walker - an amputee and TASKA user.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A with the presenters following.

If you are external to the Ministry and would like to attend, please let us know. We welcome our colleagues within the health, technology and government network.
