Have just sent this intro message to Richard Perry:

Let’s see how that goes

Hey Richard,

This yammer site works a lot like Facebook (without the scary privacy settings and advertising). Here are a couple of things you can do to get the most out of the site:

  1. Post about things that interest you or you have questions about
  2. Comment if you have something to add. We see this as an online ACC - ie. no faults
  3. Join groups - this will make sure you can find all the conversations going on
  4. The search box is really good - all the posts are available to search so our conversations are building a repository of knowledge for us all
  5. There are other linked networks for health data and standards feel free to explore - you won’t need another user name and password - the one for our site works for all of them

Hope you have a good time and let me (or Eileen or Mary) know if you think we could do something better or different.

Jon

Who is Richard Perry?

Someone who just joined.

Ahhh right, so the context of this is about the Intro message - not about Richard Perry. Now that makes sense!

We’ll have to work out a process of who/when these are sent. As there will be white-listed people joining that may go unnoticed - and then how we manage who may or may not have sent the Intro message.

Maybe ditch the acronyms too, I have no idea what ACC is outside of the govt agency.

And now I’ve just answered my own ACC statement, that’s exactly what you meant!

We can see when people have joined - so could use that. Is it better that people miss someone or get two emails?
