Building new transport infrastructure can be complex, expensive and lengthy – but we could get far more value out of existing assets by making better use of an asset that is becoming ever cheaper, higher quality and more abundant: data.
By integrating real-time data from smartphones, connected vehicles and smart infrastructure, for example, we could help improve incident response, reduce congestion and improve air quality. And by combining data from transport operators, we could offer citizens far more flexible ticketing options – moving towards multi-modal transport and ‘mobility as a service’.
At this webinar, experts from the public and private sectors will explore how governments can support and accelerate the sharing of data between transport strategists, planners and operators – helping create regulatory frameworks that can safeguard privacy, data rights and open competition, while facilitating data exchange to help shorten journey times and improve the efficiency of transport networks.
Aimed at civil service regulators, digital specialists, and transport, infrastructure and data policymakers and business owners, the webinar will consider common obstacles to data-sharing – such as those around competition, interoperability and ethics – and set out some key principles to help guide progress in the field. Join us to discuss how we can get data – and travellers – moving more easily.
