England’s health service will use drones to deliver vital chemotherapy drugs | Engadget

Also, I’d like to do this. I thought I had a new idea, but the NHS beat me to it! We have a chemo drug that’s going to be prepared offsite and needs to be used within 90 minutes of preparation. Anyone able to help me get drone deliveries going? We have way too many courier vans clogging up our campus so if I can tear the band aid off drone delivery and make it a reliable, safe, alternative to cars on the roads (better for the environment too), I’m keen. It hopes to reduce journey times down to half an hour…

I’ve been looking into this with Trevor English across the South Island for labs and others, its been slow progress. There is a company, AeroSwoop that has been working CAA to stand up some flight paths for running trials. Planning some further discussions in the coming months, with keep you in the loop.

Robyn Kamira also did some earlier investigative work a few years about looking across Northland, you may want to touch base, on her experience.

OK cool. Thanks! Yes I think I met Robyn, I’ll reach out again. I’ve been connected to Mike Farr, founder and CEO of TPT Group that do drones. I haven’t managed to speak to him yet and will follow him up also.
