eHN webinar discussion on discussion - how to make this work

As part of the eHealthNews webinar series we’ve been promoting the use of Discourse as a forum for further discussion between panellists and viewers by posting any unanswered questions on the webinar topic here and including a link in follow-up emails to those who watched.
However, this isn’t getting much traction so I’m wondering if that’s because it’s not something people want, therefore I’ll stop doing it, or if it is valuable and there’s some way we can encourage engagement. Please answer this poll

Should Discourse host post-webinar discussions?

If yes, do you have any ideas of what we can do to encourage participation?

Thanks for asking the question Rebecca. For me this time of year is frantic and also in the wind down for end of year so doing those things that need to be done rather than the nice optional things to do. I suspect you’ll see more input in the new year once we all get focused on making up in the new year for distracted time this year. Merry Christmas!

I think that depending on the set up people are missing the fact that their is further discussion here or not confident in navigating Discourse

A lot of us are lurkers and just knowing what questions are asked is a good thing. I always read the questions because they tell me a lot about how people are thinking and some of the challenges they face, which in itself is informative. As is the nature of online discussions, there are active chatters and passive lurkers. Just because no-one is active doesn’t mean no-one is lurking.
