"Consumer" or "Community" representatives at HiNZ 2019 - opportunity exists!

For those who don’t already know, HiNZ has introduced a new “Consumer Pass” for the Wednesday of Digital Health Week. This is a great opportunity community or consumer representatives to attend the conferecne at a reduced rate for the day.

Many DHBs now have Community Health Councils or similar which help provide community input into health planning for their regions. At SDHB, we have found this valuable.

If you have a Community Health Council or similar consumer reps group in your region, please pass this link on to their co-ordinators.

Currently the consumer group is significantly under-represented in the discussions on Health IT in NZ and this is a great opportuntiy to start to engage with this group.

I spoke with Canada Health Infoway today and they have a conference coming up next week which got the “patients included” tick.
It includes consumers/patients as part of the organising committee as well as patient panel members, facilitators, presenters…etc

I think this is something we can work on for next year. @KimMundell

The “patients included tick” is interesting.

thanks
