Over the past few months we have been working with the eHealth Forum (hosted by Health Informatics New Zealand [HiNZ]) to migrate our community over to their Discourse platform.
The behind-the-scenes technical work is almost complete, so watch this space!
Why?
Over the past four years, our Emerging Health Technology community has grown to over 400 members. A quarter of these are already users of the eHealth Forum, often sparking the same conversations over the two platforms.
In joining our forums together, this also gives our EHT Yammer members access to a wider community of clinical and health information technologists from throughout New Zealand.
What will this new forum look like?
While Discourse has its own unique look and feel, we’ve been working on keeping the newsfeed similar to what Yammer provides. All previous Yammer posts and conversations will also be migrated across, to keep a history of our discussions.
You can also share a lot more info about yourself and your interests through your profile – helping people connect with you easier.
I’m really keen, can I join now?
If you’re already on the eHealth Forum, keep an eye out – a new Emerging Health Tech feed will be appearing! You may notice a few odd emails asking you for confirmation as part of the process.
If you’re not already a member – you can join up using this link:

We anticipate the migration will happen during August.
