Kia ora koutou,
The Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) has released the Draft NCNZ Code of Conduct for Nurses (January 2026) for consultation.
On behalf of NMI members, the Executive team have an opportunity to collate feedback from our members and submit a collective response to NCNZ. This is in addition to (not instead of) you submitting individually if you are considering this.
I am currently reviewing the document, and one key gap for me is the lack of guidance around data governance and AI use, particularly under Principle 6: Privacy and Confidentiality. Some related guidelines (e.g., the social media guidance) also feel ready for an update, given the pace of technology change.
If you are interested in contributing to the feedback as NMI members, please leave your feedback in the comments. Alternatively, you can message me or email me at yoonah.cho@op.ac.nz directly by 6 March 2026.
This will give your NMI executive time to collate everything before the official NCNZ consultation deadline on 9 March 2026.
Thank you for your consideration of this.
Ngā mihi nui,
Yoonah
