Accessing eHealth Forum from HINZ site

Recently I tried to get to eHealthForum via the HINZ website and found that it could be potentially confusing as there appears to be a different section to login to HINZ as opposed to eHealthForum.

On doing a Google search for eHealthForum, I get to this page:
https://www.hinz.org.nz/page/eHealthFORUM
But the most prominent “sign in” section (see screenshot below) actually leads to a differnet place

It leads to the HINZ members dashboard:
https://www.hinz.org.nz/members/dashboard.aspx

For someone new to the eHealth Forum, they could be excused for thinking this was the forum as it has space for messages, although not much content there.

I expect this is one of those integration challenges where there is overlapping functionality of two systems that are actually separate systems. I wonder though if there is any way of tidying this up in the future?

Thanks for all the great work on eHealth Forum though, and also appreciate all the work HINZ is doing - we are looking forward to the first big in person conference in a while in December!

Yep agree it is confusing, have done the same myself.

Thanks guys - really appreciate the feedback. Totally agree that this is confusing and needs to be addressed.

I’ve attempted to fix this in the past, but didn’t get very far as it was going to take more time / energy than both the HiNZ team and I had at the time to sort it. And then it dropped off the radar as things do in IT when the wheels don’t squeak…

The simplest way to fix it would be to remove the page on the HiNZ website (https://www.hinz.org.nz/page/eHealthFORUM) and have the link go directly to forum.hinz.org.nz instead.

What does @HiNZ-staff think?

I would even suggest a big button such as “click here to go to the forum” would be helpful.

The small banner at the top (on mobile at least) looks like it could be a button and isn’t. I realise there are links in the body text but they go to the forum and to other places.

My reckon is that we will have people who are first time visitors that we need to make it really easy for.

@Rose

This solution makes sense.

Could you please do this for Nathan.

Thanks

Kim

Yes, no problem. All done.

Ngā mihi,

Rose

Thank you both! Very impressive response time.

I’m delighted to report that the link above that @damon highlighted (including via Google) comes straight here to the eHealth Forum.

Thanks again @damon and @jon_herries for the helpful feedback - for everyone else, if you see a problem with the eHealth Forum or any of the stuff connected to it, please do let us know!
