I’ve been offline thanks to COVID this week, but did want to reshare this, it popped up in one of my feeds. It’s from the article below, that a number of you have probably already read. I wondered how it might help us conceptually bring together strengths that exist around the country, under the umbrella of our equity goal, and other clinical or sustainability drivers we have. I was chatting with my colleague Sean Chew about our need to skip our current generation of tech (we have fax machines in Auckland Hospital…) so we can introduce better tech and design out persistent, old, problems that generate risk, re-work, and poor patient experience. Sean raised again the desire for a digital ward we can test and learn in, somewhere that can cut a path for the rest of us to follow with confidence (while we get rid of our fax machines…). Similarly a digital theatre, outpatient setting, localities set up, would be nice to have!
