If you can buy a 3D printer off the shelf, go and download the software and start from an unencumbered ie. copyright or IP) design and buy metals from an online supplier. Depending on how much needs to be done to “implant” it we could run the risk of people doing this outside the health system “in their back yard”. What sort of risks exist in a model like this?
