Very interesting topic which I’m trying to keep up to date on with regard it AI use in healthcare in NZ. I’m of the mind we should approach with caution and ensure a human in the room concept for using AI as a tool to support thinking rather than AI doing the thinking. Where AI is built into Medical practice software as a ‘second opinion’, despite assurances that the information is private, when this is linked to an open source AI, can the user or their patients be sure of privacy being maintained?
This is usually built into the contract between the AI provider and the API consumer - certainly this is the case with OpenAI (the only one I have significant experience with.
What this means that if they are found to be doing naughty stuff with the data, they can be pursued through the legal system. That is probably as good as one is going to get in this day and age!
