Kriv Naicker is Executive Director and establishment Board Member of the New Zealand Internet of Things (IoT) Alliance and Founder and Managing Director of Synaptec (NZ) - an innovation and strategy advisory organisation that focuses on the impact of Disruptive Technology, the Internet of Things, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Drones/ UAVs, Fog Computing, Blockchain models, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Kriv was previously Regional General Manager of Strategy and Business Consulting at Huawei Technologies where he led strategic change and transformation across the South Pacific and at Ovum Consulting (UK) where he led telco strategy and due diligence advisory across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Hiria loves her community and loves technology, so Kaiwhakahaere (CEO) for WhareHauora was a natural role for her.
With 15 years in tech with numerous technical and business roles in open data, open source, digital technologies, integration and infrastructure, Hiria relishes the middle ground that Whare Hauora holds for Aotearoa.

Electra Services Limited trades as Securely and is a subsidiary of Electra Limited – the power distribution company for Horwhenua/Kapiti. Electra is owned by a trust that is owned by 45,000 power consumers of which about 30% are over the age of 65. The Electra Board decided in 2016 that they wanted to use technology to assist the MOH Aging in Place strategy. Electra Services has partnered with Essence from Israel to bring their IOT based Artificial Intelligence platform to New Zealand to help meet the company’s objective. This technology is now being rolled out in New Zealand has the potential to provide considerable cost savings to the NZ healthcare industry by assisting people that may otherwise have to be moved into a retirement village or medical care, remain in their homes safely. To further it’s commitment to this industry, the company purchased and took ownership of the BUPA Medical Alarms business on 30 June 2018, which is now under the brand Securely for independence.
Presenters will be Annie Wild, who is the National Sales Manager for Electra Services and Dean Sparkes, who is the Partnership Manager for the same company. Annie has recently joined the company to lead the sales team and has previously been involved in sales and management rolls. Dean joined the company in early 2017 and has had a range of technology and commercial rolls. He has had the responsibility of bringing the Securely for independence system to New Zealand and ensuring it’s suitability for New Zealand elderly and testing the Securely for Independence system in the New Zealand environment.
