I received this via email, thought it might interest people in this group:
We invite you to participate in an interactive workshop to identify priority pathways for incorporating digital tools into pregnancy care. This initiative is part of a collaboration between the University of Auckland and the Data & Digital Team at Te Whatu Ora.
Digital technologies in healthcare are emerging as tools to integrate patient data, enhance patient communication and shared decision making, or improve detection of pathology and clinical decision pathways. There has been international interest in recent years in developing digital tools for pregnancy, including web or phone apps, and integrating data from diagnostic modalities and wearable technologies. These technologies bring potential opportunities to improve patient care, but only if they are appropriately designed to meet the needs of the New Zealand population and can be incorporated into existing healthcare frameworks.
We are an interdisciplinary team who work in the digital health space, including leading development of virtual pregnancy tools, healthcare web applications, and integration of digital technologies in the health system. Patient voices have highlighted an unmet need for improved digital technologies in pregnancy. We are running this workshop to focus on clinical considerations and pathways to incorporate digital technologies into pregnancy care. This will include an overview of existing digital technologies for non-experts, and interactive sessions covering opportunities, challenges, and priorities for such tools in the Aotearoa New Zealand context. We also intend to use this workshop to facilitate collaboration in this area.
We aim to hold this workshop in early April, and are seeking expressions of interest to attend in person or virtually, to help guide future pathways for these technologies. This workshop will based in Auckland, is free to attend, and there is the possibility of some support for travel for those attending from outside Auckland.
