Who has both BadgerNet and the Orion Clinical Portal? More importantly, who is keen on being able to launch it from the Portal?
I ask because the wonderful @lara might find it easier to advocate for this if there is significant support from CiLN.

I know Hawkes Bay have BadgerNet and are just going live with the regional portal. (so a potential interest in the future). I haven’t heard about a usecase for integrating the two products in HBDHB, and don’t know enough about how it is actually used. So saying, given that the core vision of our clinical portal is to provide all the relevant clinical information to clinicians wherever they are, and BadgerNet is designed to record clinical information, it seems sensible. The Central region would consider jumping on the bandwagon, but is unlikely to raise this as a clinical requirement right now.
Counties has both. @hayley.gill is the regional expert on badger net and is best placed to comment on their requirements. Not being able to launch from the portal is a pain point at Counties.

MidCentral uses both but I would need to ask the team in Women’s Health their view. Cost and the clinical ROI will be inevitable questions from the cluster executives struggling to balance budgets.

Who knows - if we band together we may be able to achieve it in a far more equitable way. One that doesn’t unduly hurt the books of any individual DHB.

Counties has been working on linking badgernet & portal for some time. It’s not easy & I can ask our project manager to give details. This is absolutely what we have been advocating for some time now.

Yes we have been enduring the process of trying to get an interface between Clinical Portal and BadgerNet for some months. It is difficult to get the right people around the table from Orion and Health Alliance with CleverMed and the Ministry of Health. We have ascertained exactly what we want from the interface and are continuing the discussions and trying to find a way to achieve this.
We are aware that Midcentral are also keen for the interface so are hopeful that we can make some headway in finding a solution that will benefit all users of both systems.
