This is pretty cool idea a Medtech Early assessment tool from NICE to help identify any gaps in the value proposition. It costs a bit but is it something we could do better here?

I think this is really interesting - and wondering if this is something that we have as part of the incucelerator (something less formed was in my head). I think the other channel we want to support is Health navigators app review process, maybe this becomes a tool for them to improve the quality of the apps reviewed?

Is this a similar concept to the requirements that pharma companies have to reach to get into market? If so is there a similar tool that groups like Medsafe use when pharma seek entrance to the NZ market? I wonder if instead of purchasing a tool elsewhere, one could be adapted from what is already used in NZ in a similar way for devices?

Good question - will talk to the Medsafe people here and see.

As a purveyor of an emerging tech in NZ, it would be great to have a roadmap of sorts where none exists today. NICE itself has an established currency with the NHS, which no doubt lends credibility to the META for both vendor and commissioning stakeholders. In NZ we could certainly do with more value-based evaluation criteria (not the same as cost-based).
