Polls for Clinical portal / other IT system features - CLOSED - found a different way to do it - please vote on the "New features" one

Very keen for us to collaborate on request for Clinical Portal enhancements (and or other IT systems we have in common). I’ve heard a few of us say - hmm been asking them for the same thing! But have also got from them - “nobody else wants that” -
Have found the “Start a poll feature” - will start a few on some of the features I really would like in clinical portal - and see how it goes

Hit a snag - I can only do two replies to my own post - funny that - @pacharanero don’t want each poll to be a new thread - is there a way around this?

Otherwise - please all others - add your own requests

or here is a list of the others I have - if you like it please make a poll of it

  1. Hover over on Tabs - DIFFERENT - to what is written there
  2. Worklist to display FULL list by default - not just the “top 10”
  3. Worklist to be able to reset to sort by date added
  4. To sense if being used on Laptop (WOW/COW) and move to smaller banner to allow more vertical space
  5. Expand ALL for the folder view in the CDV
  6. Increase highlight of patient record in focus on the query
  7. Reduce whitespace created with “dynamic” windowlets
  8. Increase data on the Banner
  • More badges for Careplans, Alerts, Problems
  • Immunisation status
  1. Sex at birth and Identified Gender
  2. Facilitate quick jump function on the “thin grey line”
  3. Auto collapse the previous side tab when another one is open
  4. Allow a way for database names to stay consistent when forms update
  5. Ability for admin to change home page - if set to no “end user” change change home page

to change users home page - when set to no user able to change home pageD

Persistent NHI search within the Patient Banner

How important is the option to “pin” the left hand menu to “always open”

Gah, can’t undo my vote - finger hovered too long while scrolling.

While I’m at it, @lara which way is it meant to go: 1=unimportant or 1= very important?

Lastly - some of the features up for voting are only present on the new portal - e.g persistent NHI search question. I think I know what it refers to, but that’s b/c I saw a demo ages ago. Can’t vote until I’ve played w it, sorry!!!

Good question - was playing with the poll feature more than really wanting a real answer - both probably fairly good feedback for @pacharanero

I use a horizontal and vertical prioritisation

Horizontal is “clinical usefulness” with it going from Left (very little) to Right (huge amount)

so let’s establish the “norm” that 1 is very little and 5 is a huge amount

1 - not important - get over yourself
5 - yes very important

Going to be important for you soon as we have started moving you onto it - so stick around and watch the fun

The poll feature in Discourse is quite simple, I think intentionally. The poster needs to define the ‘axis’ of questioning (ie whether 1 is ‘agree’ or 5 is ‘agree’. Good to see you exploring the features of Discourse though! The rest of the networks haven’t really ever gone for these features much.

Well, us Kiwis have never really been ones for doing it like everyone else!

I had this request from a motivated clinician - to have the patient search in the top banner space . Have talked dorectly with an experienced developer at Orion in ChCh. The response: “Yes it might seem obvious to a clinician but technically it is almost impossible”
Does this mean that the software platform is not responsive enough for our current and future needs?

As we are still at read only stage I can’t exactly comment! However it kind of is what it is, we have no choice. For almost impossible I would insert “possible but difficult” and would think that as with @lara suggestion we put some combined desires together…

Hi Bev
We have been asking this one for a while (there’s about 100 SMOs at Counties who voted having an NHI search in the banner as the #1 feature they want)

Cheers

Well, this could be the time we unite as a single voice to encourage our Orion colleagues that this is really important and is well worth the effort required to sort. What do you think, @lara?

Completely agree Nathan and I see this forum as key for aligning with various applications that are used regionally/nationally such as Clinical portal, Eclair, Medchart, PatienTrack, PMS…

And this is a great one to test the system. A simple but well validated (supported) request.

  1. How do we progress this? (Risk of raising it a minimum of 4 times (Regionally)\
  2. How do we therefore align the regional processes / requests that have certain characteristics:

e.g. Common (applicable cross systems) relatively generic and common to differing locality demands.
Our process needs first to reliably ascertain IF the proposal does exist elsewhere.
From a SI perspective I can raise it locally for validation then at our regional CILT (Clinical Informatics Leadership Team) meeting where we validate HCS / Concerto requests. Then …?

  1. I think this forum has already kickstarted the process
  2. Expand and formalize the discussion with Clinical leads such as yourself, the Lara’s, Ruth’s and others, table it with the vendor with Ministry acknowledgement. HINZ and other conferences seem to be great opportunities for this.

I should clarify the problem we are trying to solve (channeling @lara here) is to have a persistent NHI search bar function somewhere on the screen at all times without extra clicks to bring it up.

It does not necessarily need to be in the banner (that would be restricting the solution) but ideally somewhere obvious near the top of the screen.
