I am keen to know if anybody is using an electronic patient menu ordering system. I’ve had a request from our chef who is keen to discuss with someone from a food services space but also if any nursing/allied health staff have had experience with this.
Assume you are across the Room Service initiative we implemented at Mercy Hospital a couple of years ago? Patient meal orders are entered electronically into a system called CBORD. In our case CBORD is integrated to TrendCare for admission information, allergies & diet management. Our menu is setup electronically, patient allergies and assigned diet taken into consideration with the meals that can be ordered.
Meal orders are taken by our food services staff over the phone and entered to CBORD using an iPad. This then provides our kitchen detail on the meals that have been ordered/need to be prepared. We’re in the process of looking at use of the CBORD app to allow patients to order directly.
Happy to connect you and/or your chef with our head chef/dietician if you’d like to learn more?
Hi all
Has anyone got a digital meal ordering system for patients that meets their needs? Wanting to look at to improve patient experience, manage nutritional options, reduce food waste, predict demand etc.
We work with aged care services and retirement villages that use a digital solution for this provided by Chomp based in Dunedin. We have no direct association with them but have several clients who use their digital kitchen and menu management services. https://www.chomp.nz/digital-food-safety-plan They also use it for their food safety management plan certifications.
I hope that helps - kind regards
Waikato has started using an application called my kai, we don’t have it at the patient level yet but that is the next step. If you personal message me I could put you in touch with our dietician lead.
