Thanks Mary - I have sent it to a contact at Vic University School of Engineering and Computer Science - I believe ethics should be incorporated into the curriculum for computer science students but I seem to be waging a losing battle !

Absolutely! That need is highlighted right at the beginning of the article - “Efforts like these are challenging tech’s overly optimistic world-saving mentality, helping engineers imagine the unanticipated uses and unintended consequences of their products.”
Enthusiasm to deliver an outcome often overshadows understanding future consequence - having the conversation early (or even the knowledge that there NEEDS to be these sorts of conversations) would be beneficial for all our up and coming ‘techies’.
