Hey you all, anyone aware of icnet being used in conjunction with evitals?
hi Ruth,
yes the CDHB currently has the vendors talking to each other to get this up and going. We have not started yet but it should not be far off. I have been in contact with Lauren Morgan at Waikato DHB and she has the contacts of the CDHB person who is sorting out our ICNet installation. The thought being that the work should be done once and then shared rather than being duplicated. I have also spoken to Niki Houghton about our experience with our evitals programme. Feel free to email me direct if you want me to put you in touch with our ICNET person.
Thanks @john.hewitt. Yes I’ve been copied in to some discussion and agree that the less we reinvent the wheel the better. It just feels a little like scope creep and I worry what else will he popped into our ever burgeoning BC!! What do you see as the advantages and risks of incorporating icnet with e-vitals?
Hi Ruth. A touch more context.
Waikato and Lakes DHBs are implementing IC-Net. The application will be hosted by Canterbury DHB. Waikato and Counties are implementing Trend Care for evitals observations. PatientTrack is implemented in the South Island (except West Coast which is last recorded as “in flight”.)
Hi @neil_gyde. We are still at business case submission in Waikato. I’m not aware of us implementing icnet. I suspect the idea is to piggy back it to the current BC for evitals. In our fiscal climate that is tricky as need to factor in opportunity cost and the potential to increase cost of the BC. I’m interested in how the 2 work together. At first glance I can’t see the synergy. Tell me more?
Yes – we have a fair amount of our various systems feeding into our ICNet
-
Our anaesthetic system – for the dose and timing of the antibiotics
-
Our labs for the results – especially post discharge
-
eVitals and the sepsis screening it can do
-
trendcare and beds the patient has gone through

Hmm thanks @lara interesting.
Hi Neil
An update on the Patientrack use in NZ. It is is currently being used in Waitemata, Canterbury and West Coast. Counties Manakau and Nelson Marlborough have started but not completed their implementations. South Canterbury planning on starting implementation in August.
Cheers
John
