Home Sensor framework (draft) - supporting people to remain independent

Work has been underway over the last few years to understand the use of sensors in a home environment, with a focus on older adults. These sensors do not collect health data but may be useful if collected a way that helps understands what is occurring in a person environment.

We have engaged with individuals, sector and industry partners over the last 12 months in the development of the framework. What became apparent is that the sensors cannot sit in isolation, and should be considered as part of a broader care plan.

Good work Eileen - has been a lot of hard work to get to here and I think it is fundamental to understanding all the bits that need to be completed to make this type of activity (using home sensors for healthcare) work. I think we are in a similar position with home monitoring.

People have seen the devices and there are some platforms, but which platforms when with what devices for which diagnoses and the data being acted on by who are some of the complexities we need to think about.
