Hi!
I hope this doesn’t come as an inconvenience, @admins please let me know and I’ll delete the post if so.
I am doing a Masters Degree in Emerging and Disruptive Technologies and my project is aimed at helping Diabetic Children’s caregivers to understand and manage the condition better by using AI (more specifically natural language processing and understanding + chatbots).
I am NOT a health practitioner, but I have a vested interest in this as my daughter is Type 1 Diabetic and I saw first hand how challenging the condition can be; especially in the months right after DX.
This motivation comes from 2012 when she was diagnosed, but it wasn’t until last year when I started my MTech that I had the chance to explore this further.
Initially, the prototype was able to answer questions, conversationally, about Diabetes and provide guidance to users taking information from known sources such as Diabetes NZ, MoH, Diabetes UK, WHO, etc. Now we are more advanced and -based on user feedback- we have created new features such as carbohydrate count and logging (food diary), integrations with constant glucose monitors, insulin calculations based on insulin to carbohydrate ratios, correction doses based on correction factors, and some other things.
At the moment the MVP is NOT PUBLIC to avoid any risk; however, we have some users testing it and it is going well. The users are 100% guided and not taking any health/treatment actions whatsoever, only testing usability and how they feel about it.
I am fully aware, though, that I need a health practitioner’s opinion/feedback to make it solid and trustworthy. I am working on this as well.
What I am looking for, is anyone who can sit with me (in person, zoom, phone or whatever is convenient) and have a look at the tool and provide some feedback; -anonymously if that makes them feel more comfortable-.
My learning agreement outcome for my MTech is the MVP, and part of it is feedback -as much as possible-.
I would immensely appreciate this and would be in debt with whoever decides to help me.
Conversely, if any MoH person wants to be involved in the feedback process and help us do something amazing that will help the 300,000 diabetics in NZ; that would be awesome too!
Thanks!!!
Diego.
