Today HiNZ and eHealthNews announced the launch of a webinar series - thanks to @Ruth_Large @karenblake @richard.medlicott @alex and @richard.corbridge as our first speakers and @BeckyGeorge as moderator. Register here
and read the story here https://www.hinz.org.nz/news/503214/HiNZ-launches-eHealthNews-Live-webinar-series.htm
Fantastic, great to see it’s free too!
Nice work team, look forward to joining.
It is looking really good - brilliant to see that 4/5 of our first speakers (and the moderator) are @nz-ciln members - and @richard.corbridge set up the Irish equivalent.
We will look at how we can best support this on the #nz-forum - we are totally open to ideas.
As a starter, we’ll put them in here as an ‘Event’ and allow a space for pre-webinar discussion about the topic. This can potentially act as a good primer for the speaker, and will also allow post-webinar discussion and a hook to get into it and take a look for those who don’t make it at the time.
4/4 speakers sorry for the late join…
Great to have you aboard, Alex. I was counting you as one of the 4 you’ll be pleased to hear - Richard is the odd one out! We look forward to your talk and your contributions on here.
Ahhh. Thanks! Looking forward to learning a lot.
Thanks to everyone who attended and participated in yesterday’s webinar, themes that came up which I think deserve a separate webinar were:
ePrescribing; digital divide; data; sustainability of change
Interested to hear other people’s thoughts on this
Thanks Rebecca. I agree with your suggestions. I would like to add that we should have more in-depth discussions about telehealth,
e.g. take a deep dive into what makes for successful telehealth appointments in primary and secondary care (they may be different). We should also discuss digital literacy (patients and providers) – what it is, how we could measure it, how to tailor services
to the digital literacy we know people to have rather than the urban legends and anecdotal evidence we use to make decisions.

Don’t forget this week’s webinar at 5.30pm on Thursday with Rich Corbridge https://www.hinz.org.nz/page/Webinar-7May2020
Hi all,
Looking forward to tomorrow’s webinar. See you on there (Good luck @BeckyGeorge!).
Also being hosted tomorrow, at 2pm (12pm AEST), is another free seminar hosted by Professor Karin Verspoor from Melbourne University on use of clinical data, more specifically clinical document narratives.
