Digitising the consent process markedly (and measurably) improves the quality - important paper

This was posted in the Digital Health Networks recently:

My masters research was in this area; this paper is very important as it actually demonstrates meaningful improvements in objective quality of the process as well as patient perception of the shared decision making process.

I’m most interested to see if this is repeated as other places roll out digital consent processes. Is anyone in Aotearoa NZ digitising consent for medical procedures? Or thinking of doing so?

Thanks for cross-sharing @NathanK :slightly_smiling_face:

If there are any within the forum who would be interested in exploring the impact seen from introducing digital consent elsewhere (has been adopted quite quickly in the UK since around 2020) I’m very happy to chat and share experiences! (Conflict of interest being that I’m a surgeon but now run Concentric which is one of the main providers in this space)

A summary of some of the benefits being seen with digital consent - including the SDM work shared by Nathan - at https://concentric.health/benefits/
