Cancelled travel but not conference leave. So virtual conference attendance is an option.

Our university is the same. Their policy about travel is ‘no travel until further notice’ and after that each person who has to travel
overseas will be assessed before being granted (conferences usually involve travel for academics).
Still able to get funded fully for online conferences/training
Travel to attend conference is not permitted but attendance / presentation by Videoconference is permitted. All forward approvals for conference attendance were reversed
As with Lucy’s response Waikato have cancelled all conferences requiring travel, video conferencing is allowable. Some departments have reorganised rosters so clinical staff may not take leave once rostered. This takes into account, where possible, existing leave requests.
Haven’t gone as far as saying no to the whole of 2020 - expect decisions to ‘relax’ as time goes by and borders re-open.
Again, no travel will be approved. Virtual is possible but no clear statement on that
Travel is cancelled, applications for conferences are still encouraged to be brought to the funding group

Self employed so can attend but will not travel and opt for online options for the next 2-3 months and then review.

University no travel and may not fund conference registrations. DHB no travel; may be able to get funding for conference registration; leave only if non-rostered day at present but likely to change in few weeks as resume more normal on-site work hours.
