Computational physiology which is the underpinning platform for visualization of diseased organs, and the management of disease and therapy development is an area which NZ leads the world through the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. There are models for all the physiological systems but the most advanced are the heart, lungs/respiratory system, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal.
